Heron Bros. Achieve Highest Recognition at Investors in People Global Employer of the Year Awards
Heron Bros are delighted to announce they have been shortlisted for the Investors in People Platinum Employer of the year Award 2020.
We were delighted to have retained the Platinum Investors in People award earlier in the year, making us the first Construction Company in the UK and first Northern Irish business to retain the Investors in People Platinum accreditation.
Martin O’Kane, Heron Bros. Deputy Managing Director, says: “We’re delighted to be shortlisted for this prestigious global award. We proudly display our IIP Platinum accreditation which we retained earlier this year. To reach the global final is tremendous achievement and further demonstrates the commitment we have to our people. We acknowledge it is our people that make us great and we will continue our investment in them.”
Investors in People is the international standard for people management, defining what it takes to lead, support, and manage people successfully to achieve sustainable results. The standards foundation is based on the Investors in People’s robust framework, reflecting the latest workplace trends, critical skills and dynamic structures required to outperform in any industry. Investors in People enables organisations to benchmark against, the best in the business, on an international scale.
The company first achieved Platinum status in 2016, the highest accolade that can be achieved and is currently held by only 1% of IIP accredited organisations.
Grainne O’Kane, Associate Director for HR & Legal said “Heron Bros are truly honoured to be a Finalist in the Investors in People Employer of the Year 2020. To be recognised as a global Employer of the Year is a fitting tribute to the Heron Team values and people focused culture which supports and encourages high performance. We are looking forward to the Awards Ceremony and extend our congratulations and best wishes to all the Finalists.”
Heron Bros made an impression on the IIP judges with the submission, the judging panel noted, “The business performance achieved by Heron Bros Ltd. to date, which the Directors attribute to placing people, relationships and team at the heart of everything they do, can truly be regarded as ‘outperformance’ in the Construction sector.
HBL continues to be an exemplar of excellence in people management practice but is not complacent and keeps its practices and strategies under constant review.
Based upon the wealth of evidence from this assessment, which demonstrates that HBL’s strategies for people and performance are embedded, always improving, and achieving tangible business success, I have no hesitation in recommending that HBL continues to hold Platinum level accreditation.”
