Heron Bros constructed the new forestry bungalow at Goales, Cranagh which would have today’s value of approximately £25k.

First education contract
Heron Bros delivered an extension to Cullion Primary School which would have today’s value of approximately £170k.
1965
First major project
Heron Bros was appointed principal contractor for The Holy Trinity College in Cookstown which was previously known as St Patrick’s and St Brigid’s Secondary School. This project would have today’s value of approximately £11m.
1974
Construction of Riverside Theatre at Ulster University, Coleraine campus
This project received commendation from the Royal Institute of British Architects.
1977
Construction of Dungannon Council Offices.
This project received commendation from the Royal Institute of British Architects.
1985
Heron Bros purchase first land and freehold investment portfolio from the Industrial Development Board in Northern Ireland

Damian Heron appointed as Group Managing Director of Heron Bros Ltd

Heron Bros was awarded SAP in Galway which is still one of Ireland’s leading sustainable buildings.

Acquisition of first development in Europe
The development in Wieliszew, Poland includes 420 houses, a school, supermarket and retail outlets.

Heron Bros commences expansion into Scotland and England
2010
FHJV awarded £80M framework to construct Mental Health facilities in Liverpool
Clock View Hospital is the first of five sites for development under the TIME (To Improve Mental Health Environments) Initiative by Mersey Care NHS Trust. The state-of-the-art mental health facility is based in the Walton community of Liverpool.

Entry into Wind Energy market through Simple Power
Heron Bros is a partner of the leading renewable energy company, Simple Power. Together, we are helping Northern Ireland meet its renewable energy target of 40% by 2020.

£3m investment in Joinery Business
Having invested approximately £3m in new factory premises, machinery and tooling, Heron Joinery is amongst the most modern and best equipped window and door manufacturers in the UK.

Green World Award Winner
Our Cancer Fund for Children Daisy Lodge project has won a Green World Environment Award in the international campaign to find the world’s greenest countries, companies and communities. Daisy Lodge competed against more than 500 other nominations in the Green World Awards for Environmental Best Practice, and will be presented with a trophy and certificate at a glittering presentation in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Awarded €55M National Indoor Arena in Dublin
The Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena is the new flagship facility at the National Sports Campus. This fully accessible multi-sport and multi-purpose arena is the newest of its kind in Europe. Built to the highest world class standards and specifications, it will ensure that Ireland has the best facility for indoor sports and events which can be used by everyone, from Irish sporting bodies, to high performance athletes and the general public.

60th Anniversary Celebrations
Heron Bros celebrated 60 years in business by unveiling a stunning new corporate brand which captures the rich history of the company and reflects their ambitious vision for the future.
2017
First UK Construction company to achieve Investors in People Platinum
Heron Bros also became first company in Northern Ireland to be awarded the accreditation. In achieving the highest possible IIP status, Heron Bros has demonstrated that the company and its people are going above and beyond to ensure their on-going success. This achievement demonstrates the organisation’s commitment to high performance through good people management.
2017
Dive into Belfast Leisure Projects
The Belfast Leisure Transformation Programme is the largest single capital contract ever let by Belfast City Council at £105m. Heron Bros begun work on three new leisure facilities across the city with a capital value of £60m. These will replace the existing facilities at Andersonstown Leisure Centre, the Robinson Centre and Brook Activity Centre. All three new centres are due for completion by summer 2019.
2017
Crowned UK's Most Considerate Site
Heron Bros won the Most Considerate Site at the Considerate Constructors Scheme’s 2017 National Site Awards. This prestigious national accolade was for the Foyle College and Ebrington Primary School & Nursery, Londonderry. The award, presented at Plaisterers’ Hall, London, on 7 April 2017 was given within the category of sites with a project value of £10m to <£50m.
