Remarkable Results for Apprentice Ryan
Following his work placement offered by Heron Bros, apprentice Ryan Feeley is motivated to pursue a career in the construction industry as an electrician.
Heron Bros provided Ryan with work experience and mentorship which was supported by Invest In Renfrewshire. Ryan has made significant progress to achieve his career goal, gaining his Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card and pass his Scottish Electrical Charitable Training Trust (SECTT) test.
Ryan commented that the work experience opportunity provided by Heron Bros allowed him to test his learning, develop practical skills and introduce him to a hands-on working environment, all while enhancing his CV.
His 4-week work placement was offered by Heron Bros as part of their community benefit activities in delivering on Renfrewshire Council’s contract for a New Shared Campus – Bargarran Primary School and St John Bosco Primary School. Upon successful completion of his work placement with Heron Bros, Ryan has been placed with T Clarke who deliver a full range of mechanical, electrical and ICT services.
Ryan commented on the work placement:
“It was a fantastic opportunity for me to build up knowledge and skills that are required when working in the electrical industry. It was also good to work in a live construction site and get a real feel for the place. The people at Heron Bros and T Clarke were very supportive and gave me advice and pointers to further my career.”
