Almac Building 15

Building 15 at ALMAC’s Craigavon campus is a state of the art pharmaceutical chill and frozen storage facility, purpose built to support the company’s expanding global operations. Delivered by Heron Bros, the £18 million facility spans 8,830m² over three storeys and stands as the largest pharmaceutical cold store in Europe. It includes a 23,000m³ cold store regulated at +2°C, two commercial freezers maintained at -25°C, and racking for over 3,000 pallets ensuring secure, temperature controlled storage of high value, sensitive medicines.

Designed to support ALMAC’s global distribution chain, the building features seven cold dock levellers for efficient logistics, alongside integrated packaging, labelling, and goods dispatch areas. The facility also includes cleanroom ready zones, 250 workstations across two floors of modern office space, and welfare areas such as breakout zones and canteens. Located within a live pharmaceutical campus, the building operates seamlessly within a 24/7 environment, with critical infrastructure such as backup generators, a 500m³ water tank, and advanced fire safety and access systems to support uninterrupted operations.

Every element of Building 15 is engineered for reliability, security, and pharmaceutical compliance. Its robust refrigeration, storage, and distribution systems ensure full support for ALMAC’s global supply chain, while the inclusion of flexible workspaces and clean operational zones makes it a cornerstone of the company’s Craigavon headquarters. As a highly secure, technically advanced facility, Building 15 plays a critical role in the long term storage and distribution of clinical and commercial pharmaceutical products worldwide.
