Towerview was won as part of a 3 stage Design & Build competitive bid for South Eastern Education & Library Board for the construction of a single storey primary school
to provide 13 classrooms including special needs accommodation, multi-purpose hall, (with separate entrance for community use), school meals accommodation, a timber frame nursery unit and extensive external site landscape works.
The building was designed to all Department of Education Northern Ireland and Building Bulletin Guidelines. The design provides state of the art accommodation which maximises daylight and natural ventilation requirements, with each classroom having the latest in Interactive White Board Technology to provide a stimulating environment in which to teach and learn.
The building employed a number of sustainable technologies including Biomass Boilers, Natural Ventilation and Rainwater Harvesting. The building received a BREEAM score of “Excellent”.
