Located over three floors accommodating four tiered lecture theatres, specialist nurse training areas, a behavioural suite, seminar rooms, general classrooms, IT laboratories and a centralized administration suite. The main college library and information centre was also expanded as a result at first floor and has been enhanced by two new IT laboratories within the Nursing Studies Building.

The building was of a highly complex nature in terms of architectural and structural design and services provision. Construction of the building required the integration of the new and existing building structures, with works ongoing throughout the college year. Extensive liaison took place with the College’s Estates Department to ensure minimum disruption to the existing building usage and maintenance of the existing building’s fire strategy which included escape routes throughout the construction site.
