New West Dunbartonshire workshops approved
Heron Bros Ltd. is pleased to announce we will be working with West Dunbartonshire Council’s and their development partner, hub West Scotland on the development of the new Vale of Leven Workshop.
The New workshop premises at the Vale of Leven Industrial Estate (VoLIE) have been given the green light after West Dunbartonshire Council recently granted planning permission for the development.
Building work on the £1.8m project, which will provide 13 new workshop units with 35 parking spaces, is due to begin on site in March 2015. The units will range from approximately 500-1000 square feet in size and are due to be completed by August 2015.
Councillor Douglas McAllister, depute convener of planning, said: “This is great news for the local business community. This project will also transform an area of land which is currently vacant and derelict, and give it a new lease of life. I look forward to seeing local businesses move into these new workshops once they are completed next year.”
Cathal Heron, Scottish Commercial Manager, added “Heron Brothers is fully committed to ensuring the development of VoLIE will improve the local economy and environment through, building strong local supply chain partnerships, stimulating economic growth and strengthening the local business base, improving the skills of local people and supporting them into work, and creating a place where people choose to live, work and invest.”
VoLIE will be registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme and in accordance with our Company Sustainability Strategy we will implement various initiatives on site to minimise any impact to the local community and the environment, and maximise the project’s socio-economic benefits.
