Heron Bros Ltd, in in partnership with CAW and Nelson Drive Action Group, recently invited local residents and businesses to an information and employment event at Foyle College and Ebrington PS & Nursery campus.

The event provided an opportunity for members of the public and local businesses to meet with Heron Bros representatives and learn more about the project. We also provided information regarding the employment and training opportunities that are available.

Skills 2020, a local employment and training organization, attended to assist those candidates interested in applying for employment to complete their application forms. They also provided assistance and guidance with regards interview skills, careers advice and how to get any additional training that might be required.

Construction of the new Foyle College and Ebrington P.S. & Nursery, which is being built at the former Clooney Army Base, will provide over 176,000 square feet of educational space.  The project has been designed to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating.

The construction programme is scheduled to last 24 months, starting in Summer 2015. Construction will be completed in sections, with the Primary School & Nursery and their associated external works completed first. Works are progressing well on site with the entrance road currently being widened to allow construction works to begin next month.
