Heron Bros retains Investors in People Platinum re-accreditation
Heron Bros. is proud to announce that we have retained our Investors in People (IIP) Platinum accreditation, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to high performance through good people management.
Investors in People is the international standard for people management, defining what it takes to lead, support, and manage people successfully to achieve sustainable results. The standards foundation is based on the Investors in People’s robust framework, reflecting the latest workplace trends, critical skills and dynamic structures required to outperform in any industry. Investors in People enables organisations to benchmark against, the best in the business, on an international scale.
Heron Bros. is the first Construction Company in the UK and first Northern Irish business to retain the Investors in People Platinum accreditation. The company first achieved Platinum status in 2016, the highest accolade that can be achieved and is currently held by only 1% of IIP accredited organisations.
Martin O’Kane, Heron Bros. Deputy Managing Director, says: “We are delighted to retain Investors in People Platinum, we proudly display our accreditation, and acknowledge that it’s our people that make Heron Bros. the successful company it is today. We will always invest in our People.”
Heron Bros. has grown to over £100m turnover, employs 250 employees and operates across the UK. The company head office is located in Northern Ireland and with regional offices in Glasgow, Manchester and London. We are proud of our strong diverse workforce and continue to invest in our people so they can be the best that they can be.
Grainne O’Kane, Heron Bros. HR Manager states: “The IIP re-accreditation is testament of the company’s ongoing commitment to responsible business practices. We recently maintained Gold status for the Business in the Community NI CORE Responsible Business Standard, the first construction firm to be re-certified at that level. And we are also the first Northern Ireland company to participate in the Business in the Community UK Responsible Business Tracker 2019/20. We are delighted to be leading the UK construction industry benchmark Group.”
The IIP Assessor commented on our success: “Heron Bros. has presented extremely strong evidence for its second assessment against the 6th Generation Investors in People Framework. The business performance achieved by Heron Bros. to date, which the Directors attribute to placing people, relationships, and team at the heart of everything they do, can truly be regarded as “outperformance” in the Construction sector. I have no hesitation in recommending that Heron Bros. continues to hold Platinum level accreditation.”
