Habitat ReStore partners with our Forthriver Project Team
We recently teamed up with Habitat ReStore at our Forthriver project in Belfast. The Habitat ReStore is a low cost DIY store that sells donated, new and used building supplies and home improvement materials at 50-75% of the normal retail price. The range of products on offer includes kitchens, bathrooms, furniture, bricks, paving, insulation, electrical goods, office furniture, and even the nuts and bolts to hold it all together. The store also provides numerous volunteering opportunities across a range of skill sets. Revenue generated from the sale of materials at the store supports Habitat’s work building homes and hope in 70 countries around the world.
“We are looking forward to working with Habitat ReStore and donating excess building materials from our Forthriver project in Belfast. Habitat ReStore have really supported our project team in launching this initiative by visiting site and working with our contractors to ensure everyone understands what is required. This is an exciting project that will add significant value to our business so I am really looking forward to seeing this partnership develop.” (Kevin Sage, Contracts Manager, Heron Bros Ltd)
Habitat ReStore regularly visits site to assist our teams to identify suitable products and materials. They deliver workshops and toolbox talks to increase knowledge and understanding of both ReStore and also works carried out by Habitat for Humanity across the globe.
Niall McConkey, Retail Manager from Habitat ReStore says, “Heron Bros Ltd understand the added value our ReStore can provide their business. This includes the tangible environmental benefits by reducing the volume of waste and promoting the reuse of these materials in accordance with their site waste management plans. ReStore also offers socio-economic benefits including volunteering opportunities for all skill sets. We are delighted to be working in partnership with Heron Bros Ltd.”
