SAP

The SAP Global Support Centre in Galway is undoubtedly the flagship in the Heron Bros. Ltd. fleet of projects and has won the RIAI award for best building in the West of Ireland region.

The works comprised the development, construction, fit-out and leasing of 50,000 sq. ft. state of the art environmentally friendly sustainable office development that is heated and cooled using its thermal mass.

The building is the main headquarters for a shared services software company, servicing small to medium enterprises, on a Global basis in 14 differing languages. Two 3 storey office plates sit either side of a 51m x 16m wide clear span atrium that also provides a core stack effect. The atrium at all times has the same conditions as the external environment, with the tolerance of + or – 2 degrees. The design and construction teams involved in the project were from all over N. Ireland, Republic of Ireland, and mainland Europe, with the specialist atrium-glazing designers based in Munich and the specialist atrium contractor from Salzburg, Austria.
