History

The Heron Group is a family owned business that has diversified from humble beginnings in the 1950's with small construction projects to one of Northern Ireland's most successful businesses. Established in 1956 by six brothers in Draperstown, Co. Derry as Building Contractors, the business grew and diversified to reflect their keen interests in Construction, Land & Property Development, Specialist Joinery Manufacture, Quarrying, Building Supplies, Plant Hire and Farming.

The family to this day have remained successful and maintained sustained financial growth. They have built their reputations through the business with a shared vision, financial prudence and continuous re-investment. This has ensured that the current generation led by Michael's son, and current Group Managing Director, Damian Heron has had a firm base from which to take the group forward, expanding our Construction, Land and Property and Manufacturing Divisions within the group into the wider UK and European Markets.

The group's legacy includes projects which have helped to build a brighter future for the people who share them with us including Ravenhill Rugby Stadium - Belfast, Bluestone Unit - Craigavon, The Kennedy Centre - Belfast, Magherafelt High School - Magherafelt, Limavady Civic Centre - Limavady and Aycliffe Secure Services Centre - Co. Durham.

This wealth of experience, combined with our collaborative approach and reputation for quality, timely delivery and managerial excellence places us in a strong position to meet the challenges ahead.
